The 2010 Hockey World Cup was held in India from FEB 28 to MAR 13 at Major Dhyan Chand National Hockey Stadium. 12 Teams were participated in the World Cup. Australia defeated Germany 2-1 in the finals to win their second world cup title.

The official logo of the Hero Honda FIH World Cup 2010 was presented by SAIL in New Delhi, India. The logo depicts a hockey player against the backdrop of the Indian national colors. For the first time in hockey history, FIH Executive Board had a meeting in India during November last year to review the progress of preparation for the cup. Hero Honda Motors Ltd, the World’s largest two- wheeler manufacturer, had been named the title sponsor for the 2010 FIH men’s Hockey World cup, at Delhi.
